Our Mission

We are inspired to bridge the gap between science and society. Scientific advances are happening quickly and becoming harder and harder to understand. In fact, as first year PhD students we have a whole class just dedicated to teaching us how to read scientific papers. Society needs to be able to understand the science behind medical advances so we can avoid more movements such as the anti-vaccine movement that has recently plagued our country. Beyond that, scientists need people to have confidence in ongoing research so funding continues to be provided. Right now, there are very few people filling this role of communicating between scientists and society. We feel that, as future scientists, it is our responsibility to be this liaison. After all, the whole reason for science is the betterment of society. We hope to accomplish this by translating hot topic research papers, summarizing scientific advances and providing some background information about different research fields.
